Financial Information

IECEF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, tax-exempt organization that engages in legislative monitoring and analysis; outreach, organizing, and coalition building; and communication and education. IECEF’s mission aligns with that of the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC), our 501(c)(4) nonprofit sister organization that performs legislative advocacy. The work of IECEF informs IEC’s legislative goals by providing access to expertise in a range of issue areas; encouraging coordination among groups to cultivate an inclusive, equitable, and powerful movement; and increasing grassroots support.

Both of our organizations are incredibly grateful for the generous support of our donors and granting foundations, who provide the resources that make our work to build power for people and the environment in Illinois possible. We work year-round to manage our financial resources responsibly to ensure your donations support our important work as directly as possible.

We convene and align Illinois’ large environmental movement behind a unified and strategic set of priorities, and that’s what makes our organizations such a strong investment for your charitable donation.

IECEF has earned top charitable ratings in recognition of our organization’s financial health, accountability, and transparency. See our IECEF Candid profile here and our IEC Candid profile here.
