Happy Earth Day from IEC!

This year, we’re celebrating Earth Month by highlighting the incredible people power of our team here at IEC.  Each week this month, we’re introducing you to a hardworking IEC staff member who represents the incredible, dedicated folks on our team.

Below you’ll find coverage in the State Journal Register of this week’s Environmental Lobby Day festivities. Featured right up top is Dany Robles, IEC’s Climate Policy Director. It’s a great example of the transportation work Dany is doing in order to move our state forward on our largest source of carbon emissions– dirty transportation. Check it out below!

If you see the value in the work that Dany and the rest of our team are doing, please take a moment to make a donation to IEC today. Your gift will support and strengthen IEC’s superpower — our people!

Action for Clean Vehicle Standards at Lobby Day

Following our big lobby day rally this week, Dany Robles, IEC’s climate policy director, led a group of 50 youth and environmental justice leaders in a march to Governor Pritzker’s office.

They took action to again urge Governor Pritzker to move our state forward on clean car and truck rules. They delivered a copy of the letter to Governor Pritzker detailing our demands for clean air. As participants lobbied their legislators throughout the day, they asked them to cosign this letter to the Governor in solidarity with environmental justice communities and future generations who are to inherit the climate crisis.

Illinoisans deserve clean transportation. We deserve clean air. And we demand action. Below you’ll see a photo featuring Dany leading the march to the Governor’s Office.

Dany is also quoted in this Inside Climate News story about the slate of bills we pushed for during this year’s Lobby Day. Click here to check it out!
