Max Touchette joined IEC in June 2023 as an Agriculture Intern, was renewed in January 2024 as a Conservation Intern, and joined full-time staff as a Communications Associate in June 2024. Their responsibilities include event coordination, graphic design, copywriting, outreach, event documentation, and overseeing the IEC’s Community Council.
Prior to joining IEC, Max earned their Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Visual Arts with honors and a minor in Art Therapy from the University of Illinois Springfield. They have over five years of experience in campaign organization, public outreach, social media, and digital marketing, predominantly from managing and directing social media at Climate Words and Climate Cardinals. She enjoys exploring visual formats for storytelling and is inspired by the alpine regions of Canada, where she hails from, and incorporates it into her advocacy and artwork.
Outside of work, Max fancies “leaving no trace” outdoors, experimenting with new creative outlets, studying linguistics, and debunking fossil fuel misinformation as the Marketing and Content Strategist at The Climate Propagandist.
