What’s next for electric vehicles as Pritzker, Trump move in opposite directions on EV policy?

Illinois is offering buyers an incentive of $4,000 per vehicle. But at the federal level, the Trump administration is not a fan of EVs.

“We need a lot more [charging stations] just to meet the demand of people and I think the news that we’re hearing about President Trump repealing the national charging infrastructure money, the state was really needing a lot of those funds to make sure we had charging stations for electric vehicles especially places downstate where there isn’t as much availability on highways,” says Dany Robles. “Fifty-percent of the money that was redirected from these grants were meant for low-income communities to make sure we are building equitably [in regards to] the future of electrification.”
