Sam Bower joined IEC in December 2021 as the Social Media Manager where he oversees the organization’s long-term social media strategy and day-to-day content creation. The Illinois environmental landscape changes rapidly, making social media the perfect tool to build power for people and the environment. Government and the legislative process are fascinating to Sam. Prior to joining IEC, he worked in communication roles with the North American Association for Environmental Education, focusing on education policy, and the City of Portage in the public information office.
Sam graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology, Evolution, and Biodiversity. He then graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2022 with a Master’s degree in Global Strategic Communication. Sam enjoys swimming, going to brunch with friends, seeing movies, scrolling through Instagram for hours and exploring Chicago.
