It's time to make your voice heard Illinois!

Can we count on you to join Illinois’ environmental movement in Springfield this legislative session?

2024 Environmental Lobby Days

What is Lobby Day?

For decades,  IEC’s Lobby Days have connected enviros from across the state with their elected representatives in the General Assembly to effectively advocate for Illinois’ people and environment. During Lobby Day, enviros from across the state gather in Springfield to meet with their legislators and advocate for the environmental issues that matter to them most.

Who is Lobby Day for?

Designed for those new to the process and returning advocates alike, we’ll guide participants through every step of the process. You’ll be paired up with seasoned environmental advocates who will support you and your neighbors through these conversations.

Join us for any of our FOUR 2024 Lobby Days!

This year, IEC is co-hosting FOUR different Lobby Days throughout the legislative session. You are invited to participate in as many of them as you’d like based on the issues you are passionate about. Please fill out a registration form for each of the events you’d like to attend below.

March 6: Soil Health Lobby Day
April 30: Conservation Day at the Capitol
May 9: Climate Action Lobby Day
May 15: Zero Waste Lobby Day

Know Before you Go

What to Know Before You Go

What to Bring

  • A packed lunch and snacks
  • Comfortable shoes
  • Dress for the weather.
  • Some lobby day events will include a rally, rain or shine. You are encouraged to bring rally signs, but nothing on a stick or post for safety reasons.
  • Please do not bring any weapons or drugs. You will need to go through security to enter the Capitol building.

Free and Open to All

Our lobby day events are free and open to all so that as many people as possible can participate.

Catch a Bus

We have made buses available from various locations around the state for our Soil Health and Climate Action Lobby Days this year. You can find pickup location information on the registration form each of those events. Let us know when you register if you’re planning to take the bus with us, and we’ll be in touch with details once the details are finalized. You are, of course, welcome to take Amtrak or drive if that better suits your needs.

Getting to Springfield

For those who plan on driving themselves, please find a map of the surrounding area of the Capitol Building in Springfield, IL.

Please aim to arrive between 10-11 AM. If you come before those times, you may have to wait for some time for the buses to arrive and to be connected with your team. There is free parking at the visitor’s lot at College and Edwards, but it fills up quickly. You may need to use metered parking.

Nearly every year since 1975,  IEC has released an environmental scorecard, keeping track of the environmental votes taken by every member of Illinois’ general assembly. Check out our most recent Environmental Scorecard to see how your Senator and State Representative performed during the past session. Don’t know who your legislators are?
